W4.1 extra credit assignment - Eunjin Jung

Q) the Interaction Assignment. What did you do? What did you learn? Was it fun? A) I analyzed the interactions within the machine learning study I participating in based on Goffman's theory. Through Goffman's "The Presentation of Self In Everyday Life," I learned a new perspective on the world. When I thought that what we go through was a kind of "peformance" and that we were "actors" in the play, our daily lives felt more valuable and dramatic. This was a very funny experience for me. Also, the thought of the presence of “the stage” and “behind the stage” gave me a deeper understanding of the interaction process.

  What is more important: the actions of individuals or the environment that influences them? I believe that individual behavior is more important than the environment that affects the individual. I think that the environment is created by individuals, institutions are settled, and structured. That's because the environment is the group of individuals and the core is the individual who makes up the environment.
